Over the next 5 days I will be completing an assignment for a class that I'm taking this semester called Media & Society. The assignment consists of me blogging about my interactions with the media (Internet, television, newspapers, magazines, radio, etc). If you think about our whole lives are a constant interaction with the media.
As you may or not may not know I work for CitiScapes Magazine in Northwest Arkansas. So right off of the bat I spend most of my day with my head stuck in past issues, looking at older material. But a greater part of my day is spent on the Internet. I look for a variety of items such as business locations, phone numbers, websites, product information, the list could go on all day. I also email like crazy, it's how I communicate with clients and other people that I need information from.
Around 5:00p.m. I started watching the local news to see what's happening around the area and get a glimpse of what's happening in the nation and around world. It's amazing what all you can learn in a 30 minute segment. I also watched a sports show called PTI (Pardon the Interruption) for a low down of the sports action from the past weekend.
I think one item that I hardly interact with is the radio. I listen to music and that could be considered an interaction but I don't like talk radio so I mainly listen to my iPod or CDs. BUT I do like to catch some radio time to see what new songs are out.
But yeah...there are my interactions with media today! I can't wait to see what all I get involved with tomorrow!! See ya!
